About
Hi, I'm Patrick!
I have always been a big fan of books, television and films that offer a window into the natural history of our planet. The fine arts can also act as a communication tool, but in a different way. They give the artists the freedom to translate what they see into any visual depiction they feel. It then allows the viewer to reflect on their own feelings as they translate its meaning based on their past experiences. The information I provide on the back of my postcards is a more literal form of communication that I hope spark the reader's interest as well.
It should be no surprise that wildlife influences much of my work. The mysterious lives of wild animals around the world has always held my attention. It should also come as no surprise that sharks are my favorite species to showcase. They are among the most impressive and elusive animals on the planet. With their populations dropping at an unsustainable rate, I hope my artwork offers unique visual perspectives and fun facts about their behavior so we can all view them in a more important and positive light.
I work with a range of mediums including workworking, pen and ink, printmaking, scratchboard, filmmaking, spoon carving and puppet building. Each piece is unique and handcrafted with deliberate care. Creativity has no limits, so I am always open to explore new crafts and see where it leads me.
